Easy Clippie and Bow Storage
Where are your clippies and bows? Are they crammed in a drawer or basket? Do you keep lined neatly on a custom clippie holder? I’d love to hear about your method of storage! Here’s what we did…
We went with ultra-simple, inexpensive and totally functional. Don’t get me wrong, I admire the beautiful customized clippie holders – in fact, I’ve been asking my husband to make me some to offer on our website. He’s got a great design idea and I’m sure someday he’ll get around to it :) I’m always looking around the internet for cool ideas and have found some I really like. But I just haven’t been able to part with the $20-$40 (plus shipping)! And, now… I kinda like my method. It works almost anywhere and didn’t cost me a dime.
Get yourself a wide ribbon (I would suggest 2", but any width will work). Whatever color and style you like (I chose a white, satin ribbon because that’s what I had). The length will depend on how many clippies and bows you need to organize (I cut mine around 35" long). You can have two or three side-by-side, or even one in the bathroom and another in a bedroom – whatever works for you!
I folded the ribbon at one end to reinforce it a bit and tacked it to the top of a door (used a flat tack), and voila! DONE.
This picture shows another version. I took an extra long piece of ribbon and tied it in a bow around a wall sconce in my bedroom by the closet. Then just clipped the bows and clippies to the long tails and a few of the small snap clips to the bow loops.

This idea come from a customer – she calls it “Clippie Art-n-Storage-in-One”
To organize my girls’ favorite clippies and barrettes by All About M.E., I found these affordable photo/bulletin boards covered in fabric that happened to match my bright and colorful bathroom. I bought the rick rack ribbon in different colors and sizes to go with the striped shower curtain in our bathroom. I then simply tied the rick rack ribbon tightly around the back of the board after positioning where I wanted it on the board. Not only does it make adorable artwork/decor on our bathroom wall but it also keeps their clippies and barrettes displayed where I can easily see them and select them. So much easier than digging through a basket of hair accessories! I plan on adding another board next to it as the girls’ hair accessory collection grows!

My daughter has a growth chart hanging in her room, so our clippies line both sides of the chart, starting at the top. It’ll be a while before we use that part of the growth chart, so until then, our clippies stay nice and neat!

I took this idea from Julie since our pocket on the back of the bathroom door idea just wasn’t working after we acquired a bunch of clippies. I have a long ribbon in my bathroom, and another in my children’s bathroom, and my clippie users can easily put their clippies away! What a smart and inexpensive idea!
